Che bello preparare i biscotti di Natale! A me riescono particolarmente bene quelli fatti di cotone mouliné, non si bruciano e non finiscono mai!

Lumière de Noel

Sto lavorando ad un nuovo quilt : “Lumière de Noel”
Trovo fantastiche questa fantasia di stoffe rosso, bianco e beige!
Mi sono anche appassionata ai Jelly Rolls. Dapprima non si ha quasi il coraggio di srotolare questi dolcissimi rotolini, ma poi si scopre che lavorare con pezzi di stoffa già tagliati è molto più facile di dover tagliare grosse pezze avendo sempre il terrore di sbagliare e rischiando di sprecare stoffa inutilmente.

Non so quando sarà finito questo quilt. Non mi piace mai cominciare i lavori di Natale con troppo anticipo, semplicemente perché mi manca la voglia, mi trovo invece più motivata e con lo spirito giusto ora che l’atmosfera di Natale si comincia a respirare un po’ dappertutto. Quindi è facile che questo plaid sarà effettivamente utilizzabile per il Natale 2011, ma poco importa, l’essenziale è divertirsi. Non sarebbe creatività altrimenti.

I'm working on a new quilt, "Lumière de Noel".

I find these fancy red, white and beige fabrics amazing!
I am also very fond for Jelly Rolls. At first you don’t have nearly the courage to unroll these “sweets”, but then you will find out that working with precutten fabrics is much easier than cutting bigger pieces, as you will get afraid by making mistakes in cutting and risking to waste material unnecessarily.

I don’t know when this quilt will be finished. I never don’t like to start Christmas projecs too early, simply because I don’t want to. I find it happier and I’m in the right mood now that the atmosphere of Christmas is all around us. So, I think this quilt will be really used in Christmas 2011, but this doesn’t matter, the most important thing is to have fun. It would not be creative otherwise.

Benvenuti nel mio giardino d’inverno! L’avvento è ufficialmente cominciato, e l’inverno anche, a giudicare dalle temperature rigide di queste ore. Sono già rapita dall’atmosfera Natalizia e sto progettando grandi e piccoli lavori, a tutto rosso naturalmente!

Welcome in my winter garden! Advent has officially begun, and winter too, considering the cold temperatures of these hours. I’m already immersed in Christmas atmosphere and I am planning big and small projecs, all in red, of course!

Ormai siamo in autunno inoltrato, un vento freddo soffia sui tetti delle case, tutt’intorno danzano foglie colorate e gli alberi si fanno sempre più spogli. Fra poco scende la sera, le finestre si illuminano e i camini fumano. Da domani è previsto un abbassamento delle temperature; Meglio starsene in casa al calduccio magari ricamando qualcosa per l’inverno. Già il Natale si avvicina e dal prossimo post vi assicuro un’atmosfera tutta natalizia!

We are now in autumn, a cold wind blows over the roofs of the houses, and colorful leaves are dancing around the trees that become more and more naked. Soon night will come, the windows will light up and the chimney smoke. From tomorrow there will be a lowering of the temperatures; It's better to stay at home in the warmth, maybe embroidering something for the winter. Christmas is fast approaching and from the next post I assure you a nice Christmas atmosphere!

Chi avrà mai incontrato la bimba nel bosco?....
Un piccolo amico escursionista! Sembra un pochino stanco… La bimba è pronta ad offrirgli una delle sue dolcissime mele e lui ricambia con un mazzolino di fiori appena colti.
Hanno già stretto amicizia, cercherò di non separarli ed assemblarli insieme in un plaid, cuscino o qualcosa del genere…

Who did the girl met in the woods ?....A little hiker! He seems to be a bit tired ... The girl has offered him one of her sweet apples, and he thanks with a bouquet of freshly picked flowers.

They've become already friends, I will not separate them and try to assemble them together in a blanket, pillow or something ...
